Been about a year since I updated this journal...reckon I'm overdue.
Of course, a year ago, I was in the same position I am now, sorta-kinda. Less than a month out from my birthday, and reflecting on where I want the next year to go, productively.
I've actually been very productive, and I've been running a Facebook page featuring my artwork, 366 Drawrings (look me up, like me!), where I've been posting every day, faithfully. (That is DRAW-RINGS, with two "R"s, by the way: facebook.com/366Drawrings )
I'm hoping that I'm mistaken in judging my own work by the (perceived) popularity of it (or lack there of, at times), and I will continue to go on doing what I do, because I am certain that it will make a difference soon enough. What I do is important enough to me to keep on doing it, and I am pleased to hopefully inspire people to do the same in being creative and productive. To me, a day feels lost if I do nothing to be creative in some fashion. 366 Drawrings is a experiment in that fact. Not every day is going to be a winner, but every day I have sat down with the intention of putting something out there into the realm of creativity, in the manner that I do such things...fan art, original characters, artistic experiments. That sort of thing.
This "great experiment" of producing artwork every day this year--this leap-year, actually, hence the 366--then there should be no reason for me to not accomplish anything. Like training for a marathon or a concert performance, a little bit more everyday helps build the artistic mental muscle to produce, until soon it becomes a permanent habit.
That's what I'm doing now, with myself. Glad to check in with you if you stop to drop a line or say hello. Hope all is well out there.
